I liked the speech, I think Kennedy was speaking for the safety of his country and when he gave this speech he put the Soviet Union as if they were doing a threatening act, the but United States had missiles near Russia too and they didn't remove them, so maybe the things that the russian minister said were not true but also Kennedy didn't talk about the whole picture, but of course each side pulls towards its own favour...

  4. I beleive Kennedy gave his speech very well. He handled the situation calmly and maturely. However, I think it was very hypocritical that the U.S. was so upset over the missle in Cuba, when we already had one in Turkey.

  5. He was confident and mature about the entire situation. It's almost as if he radiated that determination and absorbed you in it. Such a shame someone so born for the position to lead us was killed. And I agree with Bri, we were pretty hypocritical.

  6. President Kennedy is a good public speaker. I think the government did the right thing because his goal was to protect the US from harm and he did just that. As other have said, we shouldn't have had our own missiles in Europe.

  7. I liked this speech, i think Kennedy did a great job saying what had to be said. He was very calm, and spoke very well. The "blockade" was a great idea to deal with the Soviets. and i also agree with the hypocritical comment

I thought the speech was pretty good. Besides him studdering a couple times, it covered the topic and he explained how he was going to execute his plan clearly and straight foward. Nice mascott by the way.

  10. I liked the speech, to me it showed Kennedey as a the type of person who is straight to the point, he clearly states that the Soviets are using the missiles in Cuba as a threat, and he also quotes one soviet leaders where they proved his statement to be false. I would not have changed anything to this speech, it was good and proved he is willing to do what it takes to protect his country.

  11. It is a fairly decent written speech, however, As you stated, he made this speech to america, and while he may be president, and need the appearance of inteligence, and knowledge of whats going on, he makes it difficult to grasp what exactly he is saying. Others commented he was calm and mature. well i would hope he was, as he was the president. those to adjectives are his job description.

As someone else said as well, it might have sseemed hypocritical that we wanted the Soviets to remove their missiles from cuba, when we were doing the same thing in turkey and Italy.

while the speech was well written, it could have been made easier for general public understanding.

His speech was alright. He looked very calm and professional. Also, there was defenitely only one shooter in the murder of JFK. The magic bullet theory is true

  13. Although the situation was a bit hypercritical, i thought that JFK gave his speech very well. He said what he needed to maturely. He obviously appeals to the people of America and through this speech shows what he will do for the country. Also, although this is expected, he delivers this speech very calmly and respectfully. I believe it to be a good speech.
