  2. The signigficance of him giving the speech in front of the Berlin wall is that the whole speech was about him wanting the leader of USSR to tear down the Berlin Wall. The end of the speech is directed to the leader of the USSR because he wanted peace for them and he wanted him to tear down the wall in order to acheive the peace.

  3. The signifigance of Reagan making his speach in front of the wall was to show that the great city of Berlin needed to be one again. He directed the end of the speech at Gorbachev because they wanted peace and he said the only way was if the tore down the wall and he did that publically i think just to rub it in his face

  4. The signifigance of the speech being at the Berlin Wall was to prove that he really wanted it to be torn down. He directed the speech, near the end, towards Gorbachev to say that he wanted peace and that would only come if the wall was knocked down.

  5. The significance of this speech made in front of the Berlin wall was because the point of this speech was for the wall to be tore down, so it was appropiate to have the speech in front of it. The end of the speech is directed at Mikhail Gorbachev because he wanted peace and for that to happen, the wall needs to be torn down.

  6. Reagan gives his speech in front of the Berlin wall because the whole speech revolves around the wall. He is there to tell the Soviets to tear the wall down and unite East and West Berlin. He wants to make a statement. The end of the speech is directed towards Gobrachev because USSR has control over Berlin and Reagan wants them to make peace and take down the wall. Reagan wants to make peace with the Soviets and the way to go about it is to talk to the leader, Gobrachev.

  7. The significance of President Reagan speaking at the Berlin wall is that the Berlin wall falling down represented the fall of the USSR, which is who America is fighting against in the Cold War. The end of the speech is directed at Gorbachev because Reagan is happy to see that Gorbachev is finally starting to see things the American way of equality, and not the communist way.

  8. I think Reagan and Gorbachev thought shooting the video in front of the wall would show the benefits of Berlin becoming one again. It would pump the people up in favor of change.

It was directed towards Gorbachev becauase he was the one trying to create the peace.

    2. the end of the speech was directed at gorbachev because gorbachev extended the hand of peace and now, this is reagans way to show that he has accepted his hand in an agreement of peace.......KyLeNoRmAnDiN

  10. President Reagan gave his speech infront of the Berlin Wall because it was important for him to have been where the action was. It sends a much stronger message if you are actually there in Germany than if you were sitting in a comfy chair in America. It was directed toward Gorbachev because he is the one with the power to tear the wall down. He also knew that Gorbachev was prepared to be peaceful with the United States.

  11. Reagan made his speech in front of the Berlin Wall because it involved that wall. It makes the message more clear in front of the wall itself then at the White House. It was showing how he wanted Berlin to become one again and how he wanted the USSR to tear that puppy down. The end of the speech was directed at Gorbachev because he was the one that would be able to tear down the wall and he also to create peace with the soviets.

  12. Reagan gave the speech in front of the Berlin Wall to make a statement and emphasize how much he wants it to be torn down. The speech was directed towards Gorbachev in the end because all of the people present at the speech already have decided they want the wall torn down. Gorbachev is the only person they are waiting on.

  13. Talking in front of the Berlin Wall is like putting the head of enemy on a spike, it serves both a warning to any other enemies of democracy and a declaration of the end an empire. Directing the speech to Gorbachev at the end was a means of allowing him to redeem his ways and to see if he would comply and break down what he and his predecessors used as the symbol of the Cold War. I was surprised at how he described the Soviet Union as "backward" due to the fact that if the USSR was backward, then the war should've been an easy win. And what was with the missing audio piece in the middle? Was that some sort of vulgarness that was taken out, or a simple malfunction of audio recording?

  15. Reagan's speech was infront of the Berlin Wall because that was the main thing that he was talkig about. He was saying how the Wall needed to come down if Germany wanted peace again. The end of his speech was directed towards Gorbachev because Reagan knew that he was the one who had the power to tear it down, and he used his new friendship with him to try to make it happen.

  16. The speech was made in front of the Berlin Wall because it represented something that Raegan wanted to change. He wanted to create freedom and peace by tearing this wall down. At the end of his speech, Raegan personally asks Gorbachev to tear down the wall becuase he is trying to make peace with the Soviets.
